Wordless Wednesday (Linky) - Tractor Bed

My hubby has been at it again.  He built a toddler tractor bed for his boss's grandson.  They surprised him with it on his birthday.

This was the first prototype.  He ended up altering this one as it wasn't quite to his satisfaction.

DIY Tractor bed

This is the final product.  It fits a toddler size mattress and has a steering wheel.  The tractor bucket doubles as a toy box and the lights around the top really work.

DIY tractor bed

I thought it turned out great and was a neat idea for a little boys room.

Have you done any DIY projects lately?  Please add your Wordless (or not so) Wednesday posts below.  I love seeing everyone's awesome pictures.

She and the love of her life, Justyn Patko, land a summer internship at a local
dinner theater, performing the musical Hyde. While theyare excited about their
first paid acting gig, they soon find themselves surrounded by more experienced
cast mates, jealous of their success. As if the tension isn’t bad enough, they
soon discover that the business might be a front for something much more sinister.

When Justyn is accused of a crime that she knows he would
never commit, Rebecca must decide if she wants to follow her head or her heart.
While trying to prove his innocence, she makes a shocking discovery of her own.

Everyone has something to conceal in the grand finale of the
Dark Musicals Trilogy. Rebecca has to look beyond the façade to discover the
true Hyde or face her final curtain call.

Be sure to add Hyde to your to-read list on Goodreads!

Phantom by Laura Deluca

If you haven't read the first two books in the series, now is a great time to
get your copy. To celebrate the release of  Hyde,  Phantom is now on

Phantom, Dark Musicals Book #1

The “Phantom” was a musical phenomenon that Rebecca had always found
enchanting. She had no idea that her life was about to mirror the play
that was her obsession. When her high school drama club chooses
“Phantom” as their annual production, Rebecca finds herself in the
middle of an unlikely love triangle and the target of a sadistic stalker
who uses the lines from the play as their calling card.

Rebecca lands the lead role of Christine, the opera diva, and like her
character, she is torn between her two co-stars—Tom the surfer and
basketball star who plays the lovable hero, and Justyn, the strangely
appealing Goth who is more than realistic in the role of the tortured

Almost immediately after casting, strange things start to happen both on
and off the stage. Curtains fall. Mirrors are shattered. People are
hurt in true phantom style. They all seem like accidents until Rebecca
receives notes and phone calls that hint at something more sinister. Is
Justyn bringing to life the twisted character of the phantom? Or in real
life are the roles of the hero and the villain reversed?

Rebecca doesn’t know who to trust, but she knows she’s running out of time as
she gets closer and closer to opening night. Only when the mask is
stripped away, will the twenty first century phantom finally be

Demon by Laura Deluca

Demon, Book Two in the Dark Musicals Trilogy, inspired by Sweeney Todd is also on sale for $1.99 through 7/29!

Purchase at

When Justyn and Rebecca set off for the New York School of
Performing Arts, they think their dreams are about to come true. To their
dismay, they aren’t in high school anymore, and the competition is steep.
Rebecca must compete against accomplished singers for a role in the production
of Demon Barber, including a stunning Gothic diva with her sights set on

It doesn't help that things keep disappearing from their
apartment or that Rebecca's father refuses to accept that Justyn is an
essential part of her life. Yet, all this seems minimal in comparison to the
serial rapist terrorizing the campus.

Consumed by fear and obsessed with revenge, Rebecca and
Justyn start living the story of Sweeney Todd—both on and off the stage.

Free Photo Book From Your Phone Pictures

I have always loved taking pictures.  I even remember having one of those cameras that you had to clip the flash bulbs to the top. Ohhh, that's showing my age:)  Now with the age of digital and the internet you can do anything with your pictures.  You can take a picture, edit it, add extras and send it to your friends in about a minute flat.  It's amazing how far we've come.

Though digital photos have saved me a lot of time and storage space, I do miss having all the actual physical photos. Yes, I know I can print my own photos on my printer, but that uses so much ink and photo paper which isn't cheap.

I recently bought a new android phone and take tons of pictures with it wherever I go.  The first two weeks I had the phone I took 267 pictures.  Now what am I going to do with them all?

Groovebook was the answer to my photo addiction.  Groovebook is a free app that lets you choose 100 of your phone photos and makes them into a cool photo book keepsake every month.  Each photo book is:
  • Printed on glossy photo paper
  • Perforated for easy removal for sharing, framing and more
  • Ships in 7-10 days
  • Only $2.99 each month for shipping and handling
  • Available for free download at the iTunes App Store or Google Play for android
The short one minute video below will show you exactly how the app works and it is so easy.

It was simple to pick which of my photos I wanted to upload.  Depending on how many photos you are uploading at once, it may take a few minutes. That's it, now I just had to wait for my book to come in the mail.

I'll admit that I was a little skeptical at first.  I mean what could I really expect for only $2.99 for 100 photos.  When my photo book arrived, I was pleasantly surprised. The photos looked great.  They also have the date, time and location stamped on them.  I like this feature because I always have a terrible time remembering which photos were taken where and when.

I am definitley going to continue getting a Groovebook for all my phone photos.  You really can't beat having a neat keepsake of all those special moments for only $3.  The grandparents also like that I send them photos more often now that I can neatly just take which ones I want out of the book.

See more about Groovebook on Facebook,  Twitter and Pinterest.

As one of my readers, you can receive your own photo book totally FREE.  Just download the free app to your phone, choose your pictures and upload them.  Then enter your information to order your book and use coupon code:  LILDEBIGROOVE to get your first Groovebook free including shipping and handling.

Goody #Ouchless Ribbon Elastics Review

I have been on the search for an elastic that actually holds my hair up in a ponytail for years.  I've tried so many and they just don't last.  I'll put my hair up in a ponytail and ten minutes later it's falling down the back of my head.  I understand that I have thick long hair, but something should be able to hold it up.

I am so happy that the search is finally over.  I love the Goody ouchless ribbon elastics.  I can put my hair up in a ponytail in no time flat and it will stay that way all day if I want.  They are also much more stylish than your normal elastic.

Goody elastic ribbons

Goody ribbon elastics

Goody ribbon elasticsIf you have long hair then you probaly know what it's like to take out a ponytail holder and pull half your hair out with it.  The ribbon elastics come out so smoothly without pulling a bunch of hair out too.  My daughter really likes them and doesn't yell "Ouch Mommy" every time I take them out of her hair.

The unique knot style makes them perfect for a casual or dressy look.  You can create multiple updo hairstyles.  I have used them for braids, a loose side pony, buns and more.

I live in south Texas where it's usually pretty warm, so I throw my hair up alot due to the heat.  I don't leave home anymore without a ribbon elastic.  I have at least one in my purse or I just keep one on my wrist for when I need it.

Grow Natural Eyelashes With Fysiko

Did you know that you can grow longer and fuller eyelashes naturally in just weeks?  I have been using Fysiko Eyelash Serum for exactly eight weeks and my lashes are already longer.  I am testing this for 16 weeks and can't wait to see how full and long my lashes are by then.

First of all, let me tell you about Fysiko Eyelash Serum.  It is made in the USA with all natural ingredients.  Just to name a few, the serum contains vitamin E, thyme, olive oil, biotin and soy protein all of which are natural lash enhancers.

Fysiko Eyelash Serum

It helps regrow eyelashes and make them fuller and longer in 4-6 weeks.  In 8-12 weeks double the thickness and length of lashes, and you see full results in 16 weeks.

Fysiko is very easy to use.  You apply it just as you would liquid eyeliner.  Now I always had a terrible time applying liquid liner evenly, but that doesn't matter with this.  It is easy as pie to apply.  Use it on clean lashes once a day.  I prefer to use it at night before going to bed.

When you look at yourself everyday in the mirror, I think it's harder to notice the differences yourself.  Then when I looked at the pictures, I thought "Wow, my eyelashes look great and are even longer than I thought."

You can also use it on your eyebrows to help fill them in.  I only use it on my eyebrows every few days and the sparse area near the end of my brows has filled in.  I have no need for an eybrow pencil.

You can also find Fysiko on Facebook, Twitter and Google+ for more testimonials and tips on growing your lashes.

Don't forget to check back in a few weeks for my final results and more pictures of my luxurious lashes.  Pretty soon I might not even need to use any mascara.  That would be nice:)

When Your Child Wants To Watch An Inappropriate Movie

My daughter and I have always enjoyed watching movies together.  We would cuddle up on the couch with one of her favorite animated movies. I never worried about age appropriate content when we were choosing from Disney classics or other G rated movies.

Now that she is 9 years old she's started requesting more than our usual animated movies and I can't get away with only Tinkerbell, Cinderella and the similiar.  She sees movie trailers advertised on television and hears about different movies from her friends.  Then she will ask me if she is allowed to watch it or not.

Now this can sometimes get a little tricky if I tell her she's not allowed to watch a movie that one of her friends has watched.  I try to explain that all parents are different and have different sets of rules.  I am not super strict but there are things I just don't think my 9 year old should see.

For example I let her watch the first Twilight movie with me, but I wouldn't let her watch Breaking Dawn 1&2 because of the sex scenes.  Even though the scenes are not explicit, it's still a subject matter that I don't believe she needs to know about yet.  If there is a lot of violence or bad language I won't let her watch it either. I will usually just tell her that there are too many bad words in it and that's why I don't want her to watch it.  Luckily for me, that suffices her for now.

Some parents just go by the movie rating, but that's just a guide to me.  Some PG movies I will allow my daughter to see and some I won't.  If I haven't seen the movie myself, I try to find out more about it.  That's when I found out about Mommy Bear Media.  It has been an excellent tool for finding age appropriate movies at excellent prices.

Mommy Bear Media only sells G, PG and some PG-13 rated. With each movie you see a family movie review.  You can read other parents reviews and also get content rating.  There is an A-F grade for each of the following - violence, sexual content, language and quality.  It is now my favorite place to find family movies and I especially like the prices.

Below I picked a couple of my favorites at Mommy Bear Media in each rating G, PG and PG-13.

G - General Audiences - Suitable For All Ages

Willy Wonka ans the Chocolate Factory
    Rio dvd

PG - Parental Guidance Suggested - Some Material May Not Be Suitable For Children

        Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

PG-13 - Parents Strongly Cautioned - Some Material May Be Unappropriate For Children Under 13

        Iron Man

What are some of your families' favorite movies.  I love comments and hearing from my readers so let me know how you handle your child wanting to watch a movie you find inappropriate?
