I love using coupons and trying to get the best deal.  Every Sunday when my dad brought home the paper, he would give me all the coupon inserts and I would cut them out for my mom.

With today's technology, you can go online and find a coupon for just about anything.

I started doing more online shopping this past year because of all the great discounts I was seeing others receive from printing coupon and using online codes.

I find some great savings and specials on Facebook.  Most brands have a fan page and many offer coupons and discounts on a regular basis.

For example, Old Navy has a weekly printable in store coupon.  Every Monday morning I print one for a freebie at Stripes (our main convenient store in Texas).

And The Oscar Will Go To.....?

Are you ready for the big night?  The Oscars will be airing on ABC tonight.  I'll admit I haven't kept up with the Oscar buzz and nominees as much this year as I usually do.  So I decided to do a quick catch up and review the big nominees and predictions.  

I also like to play amateur fashion guru and voice my opinions on all the red carpet fashions.  Joan Rivers has nothing on me. 

From the various article I read online, the majority is going with Argo, Daniel Day-Lewis and Jennifer Lawrence as the big category winners of the evening.  Les Miserables, Lincoln and Life of Pi also predicted to have wins of the golden statue.

Sometimes who you think will win and who you wish would actually win are totally different.  Is there a favorite film or actor of yours nominated that you wish would win, but you're almost sure will not.  I kind of wish Bradley Cooper would win best actor, but I am pretty sure the Oscar will go to Daniel Day-Lewis.  Speaking of Bradley, did you know his break out roll was on an episode of Sex In The City?

Glade Expressions Review

I recently became a BzzAgent and receive products to test and review.  I was thrilled to learn the first product I would be receiving was actually two products from Glade Expressions.  I received a Fragrance Mist Starter Kit and an Oil Diffuser Starter Kit.  I am always burning, spraying or lighting some kind of scent in my house and love trying new ones.  My family favors fruity scents so I chose the Pineapple & Mangosteen.  

The fragrance mist is very easy to use and put together.  The refill can just pops right in the holder.  You squeeze the top of the holder to spray or mist.  I liked this feature because you don't get problems that you do with the usual push button types, such as it clogging or leaking.  I use it anywhere in the house when I want a quick extra scent boost.



The oil diffuser was also easy to pop together.  The package states "spill proof design" and this is true.  I tilted it side to side, accidentally dropped it and it didn't leak a drop.  The neutral color and design are perfect for any style decor.  I really wouldn't say I have any type of decor style or theme as I am no Martha Stewart, but the diffuser still matches any room in my home.  I have had it in the living room, kitchen and dining room.
 
I also love the pineapple & mangosteen scent.  I like my home to smell good and inviting as soon as you walk in the door.  I've had several friends comment on how great it smells when they come in and they immediately want to know what it is.  When I point to the diffuser they thought it was just a decoration.  It has been two weeks and the diffuser still smells great.  It's a nice tropical scent and isn't too strong or overpowering.

Fresh Passion Book Review

Michael D. Brown has written Fresh Passion: Get a Brand or Die a Generic
about building your personal brand and achieving success.  Michael has developed the Fresh Passion methodology from his own experiences and leadership positions at top companies.


I like the way this book is set up.  Each chapter starts with a quote from a famous and successful person such as Steve Jobs and Donald Trump.  Each chapter has the six steps, tools and technology advice needed for following each part of the Fresh Passion.   There are several worksheets and self assessments to see your progress.

I really like the "Brownie Points" throughout the book.  Michael shares real life stories from his own  personal experiences.  It helps you to understand the ideas and development of the Fresh Passion methods.  I like reading about the whole journey, not just the great ending. 

I would recommend this book to professionals in any field for the steps and tools to achieving your goals.  I find it especially helpful to those who work online.  One of the top questions I always hear internet marketers asking is, "Are you branding yourself?"    This is a good book to show you exactly how to do it.

Auto Management to Mom Blogging

Before moving to Texas, I was an office manager for a car dealership.  I started as the receptionist and worked my way up to office manager.  I learned a lot in those 7 years that has helped me in all my endeavors since then.

Along with running the office, I was in charge of the rental cars and all vehicle warranties.  I spent a lot of time in the service department of the dealership.  I didn't mind this because it was more fun than being in a stuffy office.  The service manager and I got along pretty well and all the customers loved him.  I saw first hand how hard Neil worked to make his customers happy.  Repair shop management is so much more than scheduling oil changes and getting greasy.

Back then I had no idea I would become a mom blogger. I know it never crossed Neil's mind that I would apply what I learned from him to blogging about being a mom and other girly things.  What skills did I learn and observe from an auto repair shop manager that I use in working online and blogging?

My daughter is 8 years old and a little fashionista. One minute she's climbing trees with the boys and the next she's getting all glamorous.  She's always wanting me to get dressed up with her and to dust off my heels.  She was thrilled when I found meNmommy.

My daughter and I received the Bella tops in teal.  I like how they came wrapped up so neatly in tissue paper.  The tops are 100% nylon and feel wonderful.  I was surprised at how comfortable it is.  I got a size small and it fits well and is true to size.  My top is really cute as you can wear it off the shoulder or not.  I can put it with jeans or capris for a casual look or a skirt and heels to dress it up.  In the pictures I went for a look between casual and dressy with jeans and heels.




My daughter also liked her top.  The first thing she said was, "It feels so smooth, mama."  Then she went directly to her closet and started picking out different bottoms to try on with it.  She loves staging little fashion shows and doing her runway poses for me as you can see in the shots below.
